Sundresses

I first heard of Shabby Apple http://www.shabbyapple.com/ about 4 years ago when I was living in Utah. I'm NOT a huge fan of all their dresses but I recently fell in love with this one-

Serenade $80

Cameron and I are going to Greece in September and I was looking for some modest sun dresses when I came across this one. Sundresses that meet my standards are really REALLY hard to find... I'm sure some of you can relate.

I've spent hours on-line looking for a simple sundress. So when I found his one, I was ecstatic! It's a little on the pricey side, but I think this one fits the bill. I needed a dress that I'm going to be comfortable in and at the same time stay cool in.

I also love the color!

Do you think it's an appropriate dress for the Mediterranean?

If any of you can find some more modest sundresses let me know about it!

Summer 2012

Today we're going to be taking about the color coral.

Coral??? You might ask...

On my color wheel, it's somewhere between pink and orange~ and... I <3 it! It's the 'hot' color for summer 2012. Personally, I think any skin tone can pull this color off~ I saw this skirt on-line through Down East Basics. It's one of my favorite stores to buy modest clothing from!

On the Dot Skirt $25

I think this skirt is perfect for any occasion. Pair it will a simple white short sleeve shirt like this one~

Short Sleeve Crew $12.99

Some nude wedges or flats (whatever you prefer)

Then accessorize with a BIG turquoise bracelet or necklace for a POP of color (Gold is also an option)

Looking good always helps you feel good! :)

"Less is More"

Okay, I've been HORRIBLE about starting this blog up. I promise to do much better in the future.

I want the 5 of you who read this blog to know that I believe that women in general can do a better job about covering up their lady parts. Call me crazy, but our bodies are scared and first impressions are EVERYTHING. We (as women) can make statements about ourselves in the way we dress. Personally, I've always wanted to be the girl that wanted a man who would take me home to his parents, and not to his bed. There's nothing wrong with feeling and looking confident! Let's just leave something there for surprise!

One of my favorite quotes on modesty is from Emma Watson. Unless you've been living under a rock the past 10 years you know as Hermione from the Harry Potter movies.
Quote
"I find the whole concept of being ‘sexy’ embarrassing and confusing. If I do an interview with photographs people desperately want to change me – dye my hair blonder, pluck my eyebrows, give me a fringe. Then there’s the choice of clothes. I know everyone wants a picture of me in a mini-skirt. But that’s not me. I feel uncomfortable. I’d never go out in a mini-skirt. It’s nothing to do with protecting the Hermione image. I wouldn’t do that. Personally, I don’t actually think it’s even that sexy. What’s sexy about saying, ‘I’m here with my boobs out and a short skirt, have a look at everything I’ve got?’ My idea of sexy is that less is more. The less you reveal the more people can wonder."

Less IS More.

I hope this blog can help at least one person... young or old, that you don't have to "show the goods" to be wanted or liked by men. YOU are special, and I hope you allow people to see you for who you are. :)

On a lighter note...
I wanted to start with an outfit I love for the summer.
I hear it's incredibly hot in the States! At least all of you have air conditioners.
Jealous!!!
I just get hot air blown on me all day, everyday.

IT'S AWFUL!

Anyways... it's about 80 degrees in Germany today and I couldn't help walking into my closet and putting this outfit on.

Both the Shirt and Shorts are from Old Navy~

Since I live in Europe I have to order from Old Navy & The Gap clothes on-line.

Booo.
